  • RCSD Community Update: 4/16/21

Things are feeling a lot more “business as usual” over at the High School these days. This week, RHS students and faculty participated in the traditional spirit week activities in preparation for tomorrow’s 3:00 p.m. Rye Harrison football game. Students, faculty, and staff dressed in red, white, and blue, beach attire, and even robes and pajamas. An after-school pep rally is planned for high school students (only) today to pump everyone up for The Game. Unfortunately, New York State Department of Health regulations prevent fans from gathering in Nugent Stadium, but players are allowed to invite two spectators each so there won’t be a shortage of socially distanced cheers on Sunday. The game will be broadcast live on the LocalLive free streaming service for the wider Rye and Harrison communities to watch: https://events.locallive.tv/school/rye-hs

  • International Travel Quarantine Update

I am writing to provide an update regarding international travel quarantine requirements. As of this morning, the New York State Department of Health and Westchester County have updated their quarantine requirements to more closely reflect CDC guidance. As a result, asymptomatic people are no longer required to quarantine or test for COVID-19 after international travel.

  • RCSD Community Update: 4/9/21

I hope you and your families had a terrific spring break. This week, we welcomed back to full-time, in-person school our 11th and 12th graders. We are thrilled to have every student who wants to be back in the schools, and the kids seem so happy to be back together with their classmates. Things are feeling quite pre-COVID, with the exception of masks, desk shields, and social distancing, of course.

  • Please Welcome Dr. Patricia Murray, RCSD Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

As many of you know, the District’s Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Sherri Goffman, is retiring at the end of the school year after five years of service to the District. Sherri first came to Rye as the Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction in 2016. She has greatly expanded the District’s professional learning efforts and curriculum development and will be greatly missed, but we wish her all the very best as she heads off to enjoy retirement.
