Athletic Director Susan Reid Earns State Award of Merit

Rye High School Athletic Director Susan Reid was honored with the prestigious National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association State Award of Merit on March 19. She was recognized for her exceptional leadership, meritorious service, and significant contributions to interscholastic athletics.

“I am very humbled by this award, as this organization has given me great joy as a member,” Reid said. “I have grown as an athletic administrator not only because of the educational opportunities the NYSAAA offers, but for the networking and relationships it has naturally provided. My colleagues throughout New York have been a constant support, providing collegiality and friendship.”
 

Reid has been an active member of the New York State Athletic Administrators Association (NYSAAA) for more than 21 years, rising through the organization to serve as president. She has also contributed as a conference planner and mentor, supporting professionals on the pathway to becoming athletic administrators.

“I am grateful that I have had the support of Rye to allow me to serve within this
organization,” she said. “As a result, I can only hope that I am a better athletic administrator for my students, coaches, and the Rye community.”
