Dear RCSD Community,
We made it, folks! Welcome to June, a month-long cavalcade of final exams and projects, field days, moving-up ceremonies, and end-of-year and senior class celebrations. As a reminder, the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School end-of-year calendars are all posted on the homepage of the District website at the bottom in the “News & Updates” section to help you keep track of it all. Let the countdown begin!
Rain, rain, go away! I read somewhere that upstate New York has not had a dry weekend since November. For us, the last completely dry weekend was April 19-20. All this rain is playing havoc on spring sports, still…
Playoffs
…we have a number of High School varsity teams and athletes that are competing in playoffs: baseball, boys golf, girls golf, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, and track and field are all still in action. Go Garnets!
Varsity Baseball in Finals
The varsity baseball team is playing in the Section 1 Class A Finals tomorrow at SUNY Purchase vs. Walter Panas, starting at 10:00 a.m. Rye must defeat the Panthers twice in a row to clinch a sectional title. Watch via Walter Panas’s LocalLive here.
Boys and Girls Varsity LAX in Semifinals
The number one seeded boys varsity lacrosse team is taking on Tappan Zee High School in the Section 1 Class C Semifinal at 4:30 p.m. today at home. If they win, they will play in the Sectional Finals on June 3. Watch the game on LocalLive here.
The number two seeded girls varsity lacrosse team is taking on Somers High School in the Section 1 Class C Semifinal tomorrow at 12:00 p.m at home. If they win, they will head to the Sectional Finals on June 4. Watch the game on LocalLive here.
RCSD Art Exhibit Opening
You are cordially invited to join us here at 555 Theodore Fremd Suite B101 for an opening reception of an exhibition of RCSD student work on Wednesday, June 4, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. A curated collection of pieces from students in grades K-12 will be on display. The exhibition includes drawing and painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and digital design. Come and bring the whole family for a gallery walk!
