Kindergarten Take Your Special Person to Lunch Days

National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day takes place annually on the Wednesday of the second full week of October. Here in Rye, we traditionally celebrate in September by having our Kindergartners invite a special person to lunch, because a student’s special guest may not always be a parent. In years past, children have brought grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, and family friends. This year, Osborn Kindergartners welcomed their parents and special guests on September 18, Midland School hosted on September 19, and Milton parents and guests visited on September 26.

At every school, the guests enjoyed the chance to see what a typical day in the cafeteria looks, feels, sounds (and tastes!) like. The students showed guests the lunch options on offer, how check-out works, and where (and with whom) they sit.  What a delicious way to start the school year!
