NYSSBA Board of Education Recognition Week

NYSSBA Board of Education Recognition Week

Next week, October 13-17, is the New York State School Board Association’s (NYSSBA) School Board Recognition Week. School board members take on one of the most important citizen responsibilities: overseeing the education of a community’s children.

Here in Rye, the seven Board of Education members are known as “trustees” rather than “members.“ They are elected for 3-year terms on a rotating basis as part of the annual RCSD budget vote and Board of Education election, which takes place each year on the third Tuesday in May.

The trustees’ work is so important to the success of our school district. They tirelessly provide invaluable support and feedback and oversee the work of the District’s administrative team. We hope the entire community will thank them for giving of their time and talent. Please take a moment to recognize our Board of Education members for their service. They are:

Jane Anderson (President)
Jennifer Boyle (Vice President)
Callie Erickson
Shaun Kloepfer
Valerie Lapham
Matt Schibanoff
Tom Stein
