RHS Has Six National Merit Scholar Semifinalists

Six Rye High School Seniors were named National Merit Scholarship program semifinalists this week. The students earned the recognition by scoring well on the PSAT/NMSQT test taken during their junior year. Of the over 1.3 million juniors from about 20,000 high schools nationwide who took the test, more than 16,000 seniors were named semifinalists.

Rye High School’s semifinalists are Svetlana (Lana) Andikyan, Pedro Becker, Ryan Crozier, Jackson Page, Reid Thigpen, and Grace Wang.

The students have the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 scholarships worth almost $26 million. 

RHS Principal Andrew Hara said, “We are extremely proud of the six students who have earned this distinction this year. This is an incredible accomplishment that reflects their hard work, talent, and dedication.”
