Rye Girls Basketball Wins Holiday Tournament in Florida

The Rye girls basketball team added another highlight to an already memorable season, closing out 2025 with a championship win at the KSA Events Holiday Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. The tournament ran from December 29-31, 2025.

The Garnets defeated Keyser (WV) 45–40 on New Year’s Eve to claim the tournament title, finishing the three-day event with a perfect 3–0 record. Senior Phoebe Greto led the way throughout the tournament, scoring 55 total points and earning Most Valuable Player honors. Greto tallied 18 points in the championship game, while freshman Charlotte Storz added 14 points and junior Frankie Chiaravalle contributed 10.

In the semifinal round, Rye earned a 51–46 comeback victory over Quaker Valley (PA). The Garnets trailed 28–23 at halftime before taking control with a strong third quarter. Greto finished with 20 points, and sophomore Stella Maresca added 18.

Rye opened tournament play with a 43–33 win over Riverside (FL). Greto led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Storz with 11 and Chiaravalle with eight.
