Rye High School’s Charlie Brady Named Con Edison Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Varsity quarterback and two-sport captain Charlie Brady has earned the first Con Edison Scholar-Athlete of the Week recognition of the 2026-27 school year.

The Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes student-athletes from Westchester and Putnam counties for their achievements in athletics, academics and community involvement. Now in its 76th year, the program highlights accomplished student-athletes throughout the school year.

A captain of the Rye varsity football team, Brady has made an impressive start at quarterback this season. Through his first two starts, he totaled 677 yards and accounted for nine touchdowns, including a 244-yard, five-touchdown rushing performance against Cornwall and a 301-yard, four-touchdown passing performance against Clarkstown South.

Brady was also a member of the Garnets’ 2025 state championship football team and was named a 2026 lohud Super 11 selection.

His athletic accomplishments extend to lacrosse, where Brady serves as a captain and helped Rye earn the program’s first state championship in 2026. He has earned All-League, All-Section and second-team All-State honors and has committed to continue his lacrosse career at Harvard.

Beyond athletics, Brady maintains a strong academic average and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also gives back to his community as a volunteer tutor and youth coach and runs his own snow-shoveling business.

Brady’s achievements in the classroom, in competition and in his community reflect the spirit of The Rye Commitment and its emphasis on continued growth, collaboration and meaningful engagement.

Rye City School District congratulates Charlie on this outstanding recognition and his accomplishments both on and off the field!
