Westchester County to Fund Satellite Mental Health Clinic

The Satellite Clinic at 324 Midland

Westchester County has secured funding for the 2026 calendar year for the RCSD’s Satellite Mental Health Clinic located at 324 Midland Avenue.  The Satellite Mental Health Clinic was established in 2023 to provide much-needed mental health services to students and families of the Rye City School District.

Why are these services so important? RCSD Board of Education President Jane Anderson says, “Our students can have access to the best curriculum and teachers in the world, and none of that matters if they are unable to focus on school because of their social and emotional health.”

The District clinical staff operates the clinic in conjunction with Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a successful mental health provider. The clinic operates three days per week and offers the following services and supports:

  • Individual counseling/therapy for youth
  • Group counseling/therapy for youth
  • Family counseling/therapy
  • Youth education programs
  • Family education programs
  • Parent/guardian education programs
  • Community education programs

Why would the District not go it alone? While the RCSD has dedicated clinicians on staff at every school, the level of demand is beyond the District’s capacity. In addition, budget restrictions make it difficult to provide the level of clinical staff needed to meet the needs of students, and the District is limited in the scope of services that can be provided to families.

Superintendent Dr. Tricia Murray said, “We are grateful to County Legislator Catherine Parker for her continued support in securing this funding, which allows us to maintain critical services for our students.”
