    As you know, Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order closed schools for the remainder of the school year with a continuation of remote learning. Our school year was to have ended on Friday, June 26.

  • Food Allergy Awareness Week Resources and Activities

    May 10-16 is Food Allergy Awareness Week, a national effort to shine a light on food allergies and anaphylaxis. One in 13 children has a food allergy; about two students per classroom in the Rye City School District.

  • COVID-19 Health Alert

    On Friday, May 8th, the State issued an advisory about a syndrome observed in children and its potential association with COVID-19. Pediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome may cause a persistent fever, inflammation of blood vessels, rash, abdominal symptoms (pain, vomiting, diarrhea), and cardiovascular symptoms.

  • RCSD Schools to Remain Closed for the Remainder of the School Year

    Today in his daily press conference, Governor Cuomo announced that all New York State schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year due to the coronavirus crisis. Remote learning is to continue for the remainder of the school year, and our buildings and campuses will remain closed.

    During May and early June, teachers, administrators, and support staff begin the process of grouping students for placement into classrooms for the next school year. Although we will conduct this process remotely this year, we continue to take this process seriously, with each student’s placement thoroughly and thoughtfully considered.
