RCSD Schools to Remain Closed Until April 29; Regents Exams Canceled

Dear RCSD Community,

Yesterday, Governor Cuomo extended the statewide stay-at-home order until April 29. This applies to schools, so our buildings and campuses will remain closed.

Today, New York State Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa officially announced that New York State Regents Exams are canceled for this school year. In addition, the NYS Education Department issued guidelines for the cancelation of the exams.

Students who have completed the course requirements for Regents level courses will be considered to have passed the class without taking an exam. Students must meet all of the course requirements and pass the class in order to receive Regents credit. The exam is waived and there will be no negative impact on requirements for graduation.

Students who have questions or concerns about their graduation plan or about the waiver for Regents exams should reach out to their guidance counselors via email.
