Milton Welcome Letter
August 28th, 2020
We hope that you and your families have had a wonderful summer full of sunshine and warm memories. We are overjoyed to welcome your children back to school. While the last several months have posed many challenges, the thought of our students returning to school has been a bright spot for us during this trying time. The teachers are busy setting up their classrooms and preparing for the students' return. We know this year is going to be different, however the students will still experience the excitement that each new school year brings.
Parent Information Sessions:
Yesterday, on August 27th, Midland, Milton, and Osborn schools each held their first parent information sessions. These sessions provided information and procedures for the reopening of elementary schools. We will hold a second parent information session on Monday, August 31st in the evening. Prior to the parent information sessions, parents had the opportunity to submit and ask questions. The elementary administrators are in the process of collating the questions and creating a FAQ for all elementary parents. Please use the following link to access the Parent Session on Monday, August 31st at 5PM.
Opening Days: September 8th and September 9th
AM cohort students will arrive at their school between 8:30am and 8:40am. Students will be in school with their teacher and classmates until 11:00am. Students who are in the PM cohort will engage with their remote school session in the AM, engage in their special area classes and meet their classmates. There will be no afternoon sessions on this day.
PM cohort students will arrive at their School between 8:30am and 8:40am. Students will be in school with their teacher and classmates until 11:00am. Students who are in the AM cohort will engage with their remote school session from 8:40am until 11am.
Teacher Assignments and Schedules:
Teacher assignments are available on the Parent Portal. Earlier this week the district mailed home directions for how you can access your child’s assignment in the portal. If you have selected the fully remote option you will receive your remote teacher assignment next week. Currently, your child’s assignment will reflect the class he/she will attend specials with each day. You will receive a copy of your child’s schedule in the mail. This mailing will go out on Monday.
You will receive detailed information about arrival and dismissal procedures through Blackboard next week.
We look forward to seeing you and the children on the first days of school. Thank you for your continued partnership!
