Revised Guidelines Affecting Summer School

July 8, 2021

Dear RCSD Parents and Guardians,

The District has received updated guidance from the Department of Health relevant to summer school. Effective immediately, the online daily health screening questionnaire will no longer be required prior to students or faculty/staff entering a school building.  However, we are still requiring that everyone continue to monitor their health status prior to entering a school building and stay home when appropriate.

Given current low rates of COVID-19 transmission, the Department of Health has also revised its mask/face covering policy.  Moving forward, all vaccinated individuals will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors or outdoors but may continue to do so if they so choose.  All unvaccinated adults (18 years and older) will be required to wear masks while indoors. Children ages 2 -17 who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged but not required to wear a mask/face covering while indoors.

If you have any questions, please contact Tracey Barnett, Director of Health Services, at barnett.tracey@ryeschools.org.

Sincerely,

Eric Byrne, Ed.D
