RCSD 2023-24 School Year Calendar

Dear RCSD Community,

Attached and linked here please find a copy of the 2023-24 School District calendar which was approved at last night's Board of Education meeting. The calendar is also posted to the District's website: go to www.ryeschools.org, click on the "CALENDAR" icon at the very top of the page, and scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says "District One Page Calendar." The current year's and next year's calendars are both there.

For the most part, the 2023-24 school year calendar very closely resembles this year's calendar. Many of the breaks are similar in timing and duration. There is one notable difference: Spring Break 2024 is the last week in March, rather than the first week of April as was the case this year.

We took the liberty of adding color to this year’s calendar; hopefully, that will make it easier to use at a glance. Half-days are indicated by a diagonal line through the day - please check to make sure the half-day applies to your child’s school. Finally, the first and last days of school are indicated by a bold box colored yellow.

The last day for students is June 26th in 2024. We recognize this is a late end to the school year for many families looking to begin vacation travel or summer camp. Unfortunately, we have no say in the matter. The State Education Department tells the school district what the last day of school will be, and we, and all other districts in New York, must comply. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this causes you or your family.
