In-Person Services for Students with IEPs or 504 Plans

September 18, 2020

Dear Community,

As planned, we will begin to offer special education and 504-related services in person beginning on Monday, September 21.  This will be for resource room, specialized reading instruction, speech, OT, counseling, and PT services provided to students as listed on an IEP or 504 plan.  This is not for building level services, AIS, ENL, or other building level supports.  In order to follow our protocols and maintain the safety of our students and staff the following requirements must be adhered to:

  1. You must complete a COVID-19 screening assessment with a temperature check and fill out a health assessment form for each of your students prior to 7:30 am. The link to access the form is: https://covid19screening.k12alerts.com/ryecityschools/
  2. Students need to be dropped off and picked up on time.  We do not have space or the staff to watch students as sessions are scheduled back to back.
  3. For each building, the following will be the drop-off and pick up locations:
    1. Milton: Lower door by the half-circle driveway (line up on ramp)
    2. Midland: Main Entrance
    3. Osborn:  8:40 am, 11:00 am, 12:40 pm and 2:55 pm - door by the gym; all other times at the main entrance
  4. When dropping off or picking up your child during arrival or dismissal time, please do your best to prevent them from interacting with the other students that are entering into the building as we want to keep the groups separate.

If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Erin Vredenburgh, Ed.D.

Director of PPS and Special Education
