October 9, 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians and Student-Athletes,
I hope that this email finds you and your family safe and healthy. We are in our second week of the "Fall I" interscholastic season. The student athletes and coaches have been doing an outstanding job practicing and following COVID-19 protocols associated with interscholastic athletics. The purpose of this email is to provide you with the latest updates associated with the athletic season.
Spectators & Home Contests
Per Section 1 regulation, only TWO spectators per home game athlete will be permitted to attend a home contest. Rye spectators are not permitted to attend away contests. Please take this extremely seriously and do not travel to any games or contests not held on our campus. We are expecting our opponent communities to abide by the same protocol. Student-athletes will be required to complete a "Spectator Form” by noon on each game day. For your reference, here is a link to that form: Spectator Form
The form will be posted in the Athletics section of the RCSD website. Only the two individual forms may be submitted for admission to each home contest.
All spectators will go through our health screening process upon arrival and are required to sign in, wear face coverings and socially distance. Please note that we will not have bleachers at all games; spectators are welcome to bring a personal portable/pop-up chair if they do not wish to stand. Entrance to Rye High School events will be at the stadium entrance. Off site events (Rye Recreation) will have checkpoints available. On the day of the event, I will send a reminder with specific entrance checkpoints (if you are on a Rye Recreation field/court).
As a reminder, teams will be traveling to and from contests on the team bus. The team bus may not exceed 20 total passengers, as per the DOH guidance related to transportation.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Susan Reid Dullea
RCSD Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics
