RCSD Community Update: 6/3/22
Dear RCSD Community,
With safety and security on the minds of many parents and guardians of children in schools, I would like to express my appreciation for the wonderful security staff here in Rye. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated team of professionals who go above and beyond in keeping our schools safe. Not only do our security staff keep a watchful eye on everything that is happening in and around the schools, they know the students personally. Whenever I visit schools I see our security staff greeting students by name, checking in, and making sure that everyone is OK. This is not typical in most schools, but we are lucky here in Rye. So, the next time you visit a school, please take a moment to say thank you to this incredible group.
Welcome to June, a month-long frenetic mix of final exams and projects, end-of-year celebrations, and moving up ceremonies. As a reminder, the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School end-of-year calendars are all posted on the home page of the District website at the bottom in the “District News” section to help you keep track of it all.
Senior Prom is taking place tonight at the Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club. We hope everyone has a terrific time, and a big “thank you” to the parent and teacher volunteers who have helped make it a special occasion for our seniors. Graduation is planned for next Friday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. in Nugent Stadium, with a rain date of Saturday, same time, same place.
Graphic Design Exhibit
Those of you who have visited our Central Offices at 555 Theodore Fremd Avenue Suite B101 know that we have a LOT of hallways. We thought, “what better place to showcase student art?” And so we have - this year will mark our fourth student art exhibition here at CAB. You are cordially invited to join us here at an opening reception to view High School graphic design student work next Wednesday, June 8, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Come and bring the whole family! Refreshments will be served. The art will be on display through January of 2023.
We are no longer reporting case numbers on a weekly basis. Below, please find the New York State Dashboard where you may check school case numbers whenever you like -- we continue to report case counts to the state on a daily basis. Have a fantastic weekend.
