It is with thanks for his years of service that I announce that Dr. Robert Zegarelli is leaving his position as Assistant Principal of Rye High School, effective December 10, to become Principal of Pearl River High School! Dr. Zegarelli has been a leader in the Rye City School District community for over eight years, positively impacting many students and families. I am very excited for Dr. Zegarelli, and I know that he will be a great addition to the Pearl River community.
In order to ensure a seamless transition, we will move forward with an Interim Assistant Principal to fill Dr. Zegarelli’s role at RHS. We will conduct a full search for a permanent Assistant Principal in the spring with an expected start date of July 1 or sooner. Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Leadership Brian Alm and I will lead a committee composed of administrators, as well as Rye High School faculty, staff, students, and parents, who will participate in the search process. We will share more details in February when the search process begins in earnest.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Zegarelli on his new position and wishing him all the very best.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
