RMS Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth-Grade Back to School Night Thursday, September 23
Dear Rye Middle School Families:
Our Virtual Back to School Night for parents of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders is next Thursday, September 23. Back to School Night will start promptly at 5:45 p.m. for sixth-grade parents, 6:00 p.m. for seventh-grade parents, and 6:15 p.m. for eighth-grade parents. We will begin with a brief welcome and introduction from the RMS administration, followed by a few words from our Parent Organization co-presidents and your child’s guidance counselor.
After the opening welcome session, parents will access their designated online team and subject area Google Meet links for the remainder of the evening. Please refer to the schedule below for your child’s specific grade. We have planned for a brief passing time between classes to allow you to exit one Google Meet and enter another. If more than one family member is joining from the same home, please participate from the same device to ensure there is room for all families to join the session. Please make every effort to join each Google Meet a few minutes before its start time, as teachers will need time to allow families to join the sessions.
Please click on your child’s grade level below to find all of your Google Meet links for the evening. If you are unsure of your child’s team, please refer to the PowerSchool Parent Portal where your child’s team is indicated on the last line of the Current Year Schedule. You may also contact sixth-grade counselor Vanessa Caine at email@example.com, seventh-grade guidance counselor Dina Farewell at firstname.lastname@example.org, or the eighth-grade counselor Rob Villanova at villanova.robert@ryeschools.
Each year, on the day after Back to School Night, RMS has a one-hour delayed opening of school. On Friday, September 24, all RMS students will report to school at 9:00 a.m. and report to their Period 2 class. I appreciate your cooperation in following this slight alteration to the regular schedule.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
